Korea Women's Hot-Line took its first step in 1983 for a world without violence and a gender-equal society. The organization is working to guarantee women's human rights from all violence against women, such as domestic violence, sexual violence, and sexual trafficking.

About Korea Women's Hot-line

Korea Women's Hot-Line took its first step in 1983 for a world without violence and a gender-equal society. For the first time in Korea, it began counseling for women victims of violence and opened a related shelter. The group supports victims and conducts various activities to change related policies and to improve awareness with the goal of changing gender equality policies, producing feminist discourse, spreading feminist values, strengthening internal capacity of the organization, and supporting female violence victims. It is a national organization with 24 branches nationwide that hopes to create a peaceful world without violence against women.

A SESSION AT THE 15TH FILM FESTIVAL FOR WOMEN'S RIGHTS

Hosting one of the sessions from the 15th Film Festival for Women's Rights. Watching an IPV related film and having a two way talk show with the experts. Naming the session as "ABUSE IS NOT LOVE" to further raise awareness about IPV. In addition, installing an offline booth to further educate the public about the 9 Signs of Abuse.

INTERNAL TRAINING: L'Oreal EMPLOYEES AND BAs

Educating our BAs about IPV in Korean with the Korea Women's Hot Line's materials. Holding and internal educational event in the L'Oreal Office to raise awareness about IPV and educate the employees about the 9 signs of abuse.

COLLABORATION WITH COSMOPOLITAN KOREA FOR ONLINE IPV AWARENESS

Releasing contents about IPV awareness on Cosmopolitan Korea's Instagram, with contents such as but not limited to: IPV self check list, IPV awareness survey and an interview with an expert on how to recognize and prevent IPV.

Korea Women's Hot-Line provides counseling services on domestic violence, sexual violence, and sexual trafficking. All consultations are free of charge and confidential.

The organization started feminist counseling for the first time in Korea to support all women who suffer violence and discrimination as women. Victims and survivors can receive counselings via phone calls and face-to-face interviews as well as medical (fees etc.) and legal supports (assistance with written statements, investigations, trials, etc.).

In addition, education and training have been conducted every year to spread feminist counseling since 1983, and as part of that, in 2020, the 52nd Domestic Violence Counselor Training Program and the 23rd Sexual Violence Counselor Training Program were conducted.
